Nursing School

Nursing School is a requirement for all nurses whether they want to become an RN, LPN, Certified Nursing Assistant or even a Home Health Aide.  Nursing requires a great deal of education both hands on and in the classroom.  The amount of classes and years of school it will take to become a nurse depends on the type of Nursing License or certification you want to earn.

One thing is for sure, whether you choose to become a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse you will be spending hundreds of hours learning everything from anatomy and physiology to assisting during surgical procedures.

We carry some great student nurse gift ideas with nursing themes and medical symbols that they will be proud to use and wear in nursing school and still love when they become licensed nurses throughout their career.

Nurses are always learning whether they go to a nursing school, accredited college, take online medical courses or attend CEU classes a nurse is always taking notes, asking questions and finding out the newest and best ways to take care of their patients.

From the day a future nurse enrolls in school they will need some things to help them through this very busy time in their lives.  They definitely will need a great second hand watch, tote bags and business bags to help them carry all of their books, binders, notes, lunch and extra apparel to help get them through their long days and nights of studying and some nursing theme hoodies and sweats to cozy up in while commuting are fun and practical presents for nurses.

Another great gift idea for a Student Nurse is a personalized Visa Gift Card.  You can choose the amount that works best for you, add a message or even upload a photo to make a really custom gift card.  You can choose Visa Credit Cards or pick a Merchant that works best for your gift giving.  Nursing school is really expensive and so are text books and accessories.  Gift cards are thoughtful and always appreciated by students.

Nurses Watches

Nurses always wear watches. I have never seen an RN, LPN, Emergency Room Nurse or OR Nurse without a watch. They always have a second hand. A nurse will always use her second hand when taking a pulse rate. Think how many times a nurse looks at her watch whether documenting times on patient charts when medicine was given or vitals checked, blood drawn or an injection administered.

A Nurse By Any Other Name

A Nurse by any other name would still be so much more than "nurse" "RN" and "LPN".  They could be called be caregiver, healer, helper and healthcare provider.  Throughout their day, their shift, their nursing career nurses do so much more than just assist the doctor.  Nurses are historians listening carefully to get the right information from patients and family so the right diagnosis is reached.  They are technicians collecting blood and body samples using proper procedures, proper labeling and sending it to the proper labs.

LPN Gifts By Any Other Name

Nurses are teachers instructing patients and their families with patience and compassion how to care for their problems.  Both LPN's and RN's are artists taking care to bandage, gauze and cover wounds properly and carefully.  A nurse is often the shoulder to cry on, the pillar of strength and sometimes the person who reminds you that things will get better.

We meet up with nurses throughout our lives.  In school we have visited the School Nurses.  Every doctor's office appointment whether its for a preventive medicine check up or something more serious, we depend on the nursing staff in the office to take our blood pressure, explain instructions to us, give us a shot or draw some blood.  Emergency Room visits are all about the Nurses with an occasional visit from a doctor.
